about

A song about getting treated badly by people you think are your friends. I wrote the lyrics with the help of my Mum whilst laid up in hospital after a horrendous Kidney Stone attack - not bad going considering I was dosed up on Painkillers!

lyrics

Come in
Wipe your feet (on me)
Haven't seen you for a while
Never been too good with confrontation
It's just easier to smile

Out of sight
Out of my mind
Now, sitting here with you I find
I can't relax, easing back in my chair (cautious contact)
Upsets the knife still in my back

Given up
Believing what you say
Better off
Going my own way
Don't waste my time by feeding me a line
Don't waste my time

You can count on your friends or so they say
But the sum of the parts doesn't add up when everything's taken away
What can I say?
'Et Tu Brute?'

Should I see you in passing
I'll always say hello
It's just an awkward situation
Knowing what I know

You got tripped by The Doormat making your escape
The square peg in the round hole snagged your superhero cape

Friends like these
Who needs enemies with friends like these?

So don't forget your coat, it's time for you to go
A friend should know
